Each participant's motivation to walk is a story they are quick
to share. It may be for themselves, a loved one or a friend or it may be
because someone they care about or their employer asked them to participate.
Each year, more than 15,000 children and 15,000 adults - approximately 80
people per day - are diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D) in the United States.

Did you know:
T1D is an autoimmune disease that comes on suddenly and strikes both children and adults
at any age.
T1D has nothing to do with diet or lifestyle.
Those living with T1D must carefully balance insulin doses with eating and daily
activities throughout the day and night.
Those living with T1D must test their blood sugar by pricking their fingers for blood
6 or more times a day.
Insulin is NOT a cure.
