Five people were injured in a car accident at Highway K and Waterford on Monday morning.

O'Fallon Police said they received a call at 7:14 a.m. and four cars were involved.  

According to police, five people were transported to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.

Highway K was shut down for a few hours, causing traffic delayed school buses entering Fort Zumwalt West Middle School. 

According to the O'Fallon Police Department Facebook page, some residents said traffic was backed up all the way to Dardenne Prairie.
