We have a winner! Carousel Chocolates & More in O'Fallon captured the St. Charles County Patch Chowdown Showdown Best Chocolates title hands down this week.  

Patch readers were passionate about their chocolate. Here are a few of their comments:

• Mo Hinnah said "Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate on Zumbehl carries original candy that is made with by same recipes as Mavrakos. I love the Molasses Puffs the best, they remind me of the same candy I would eat as a child!! Yum!!!"

• S Pingrey said "If you have not yet been to Carousel Chocolates you need to check them out! They always have some Chocolate samples so you can discover for yourself why they have the BEST CHOCOLATE!!!!! While you are there you can get some xmas shopping done as they also carry a large variety of unique gifts and let's not forget the popcorn.....it's made fresh at the store and they have an impressive selection of flavors I've not seen anywhere else and again, it's FRESH!!!! Don't miss out!"

Carousel Chocolates ended up with 70 percent of the votes when the poll closed at 5 p.m. Thursday.
