Athlete of the Week: Taylor Wade Named GAC Player of the Year

Fort Zumwalt South's Taylor Wade wins fan's choice award.

Taylor Wade is not just a goal scorer.

Sure the Zumwalt South star can score—she scored 17 goals this season—but she can also be a playmaker. She led the GAC with 19 assists and was second in the conference in total points. Her offensive output was enough to garner the attention of fans across the GAC. Wade's showing was good enough to get her the crown of Patch's fan's choice poll for GAC soccer player of the year.

Here's how the voting broke down:

Who is the top GAC girls soccer player for the 2012 season?

Wade was part of a strong offensive attack from Zumwalt South. The Bulldogs compiled an 18-9-0 mark this year and scored 70 goals. An impressive 17 came off the foot of Wade. Her goal output, third in the GAC North, was just part of an impressive scoring line. Along with her 17 goals she contributed 19 assists for 53 points (second in conference). Her 19 assists led the GAC.
