City Takes Time For Random Acts of Kindness
O'Fallon employees spent Valentine's Day delivering cards and hand-crafted flowers to local seniors.
City of O'Fallon employees filled their arms with brightly colored tissue paper flowers and headed out to local senior homes to share the Valentine's Day love on Monday.
Each year on Random Acts of Kindness Day, Feb. 14, city employees visit local senior centers and nursing homes, to distribute origami flowers, cards and candy.
Local volunteers crafted the cards and flowers at the annual Martin Luther King Day of Service on Jan. 17.
Volunteer Services Director Kathy Halstead started Random Acts of Kindness 10 years ago. She said she chose Valentine’s Day for the project, because it seems to be a day that seniors are often forgotten.

The Employees of the City of O'Fallon are a unique and caring group of people. We are all blessed to have them in city hall but more importantly we are fortunate that they are our neighbors and our friends too. They put an exclamation point on RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS!!!
