CVS Pharmacy to Purchase Land On Highway K

The O’Fallon Planning and Zoning Commission approved a request for a preliminary plat on March 1.

A new pharmacy is headed to the City of O’Fallon

O’Fallon Director of Public Relations Tom Drabelle said CVS Pharmacy is purchasing land at the southeast corner of the intersection of Highway K and Highway N. The company has proposed tearing down the Mobile On the Run to build the drugstore.

Earlier in March, the O’Fallon Planning and Zoning Commission held a public hearing and approved the request for a preliminary plat for 3002 Highway K. This allows the existing land, which is owned by Arch Energy, to be subdivided into two lots.

Drabelle said the land would be divided into two lots because a cell phone tower sits on the property.

I'm okay with that- my insurance company does not work at Walgreen's anymore, CVS will be a welcome choice.

I agree with welcoming CVS to town! Good addition. But was that On the Run not successful? It will be a shame to see that gas station go. I always thought it was well-trafficked when I drove by. Just curious.

I'll miss that Mobile. I'm sure that will increase traffic too, the last thing we need at that intersection.

Good point Linda. Hopefully the developers will keep traffic in mind and set up some sort of entrance/exit system that alleviates congestion.

The P&Z Commission report says:

The driveway entrance on the north and west sides of the subject property will provide adequate access for the proposed lots to Highway K and Highway N.

A cross access easement will be provided through Lot 1 granting Lot 2 a full access onto Highway N.

You can see a map of the property and read more on the city website under last week's March 8 City Council agenda.

I personally am very happy to see CVS I was so mad at walgreens for the stuff they are pulling with express scripts. That it will be nice to have another 24hour pharmacy here! plus there is a mobil across the street.
