Five Things to Do with Kids This Week

Check out O'Fallon Patch's weekly list of kid-friendly family activities around town.

 

MAKE-IT & TAKE-IT BOOKMARK

When/Where: The event is from 10 a.m.-noon on Wednesday, March 2 at the O'Fallon Michael's store at 2220 Highway K.

Why Go: Join the Dr. Seuss Birthday Celebration by making your own festive bookmark creation while supplies last. Ages three and above are welcome.

Pricing: This event is free.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DR. SEUSS!

When/Where: You can celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday all day Wednesday, March 2 at the Deer Run Branch in O'Fallon in Meeting Room A.

Why Go: Help celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday with activities and crafts in the library all day. Drop in to read your favorite Seuss book with the Cat in the Hat any time from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.  Enjoy birthday cake in the meeting room at 4:30 p.m.  All ages are welcome.

Pricing: This event is free.

MARDI GRAS CELEBRATION FOR KIDS

When/Where: Dinner starts at 5 p.m. and games are open from 6 - 9 p.m. on Friday, March 4 at Immaculate Conception of Dardenne Catholic Church (ICD). The church is located at 7701 Highway N, Dardenne Prairie. This celebration will be located in the parish hall, which is in the basement of the main church. Park in the lot directly off of Highway N. 

Why Go: Mardi Gras is a family-oriented event, and all ages are welcome. Ticket and food prices are kept at a minimum so everyone can come and enjoy an evening of fun. This event will have a disc jockey, clowns, face painting, games, raffles and much more. All proceeds go to the ICD St. Vincent DePaul Society.

Pricing: Game tickets are only four for $1  Most games only cost one ticket. Prize tickets from games can be redeemed in the prize room. There will be hot dogs, chili, chili dogs, frito pie, chips and soda available for dinner. You'll be able to feed a family of five for less than $15.

HOME DEPOT KIDS WORKSHOP

When/Where: The workshop takes place from 9 a.m.-noon on Saturday, March 5 at the O'Fallon Home Depot location at 1525 Highway K.

Why Go: This workshop, designed for children ages 5-12 will teach children to make a Home Depot #20 Race Car.

Pricing: The workshop is free.

LUCKY LEPRECHAUN

When/Where: This event takes place from 2-3:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 6 at The Painted Pot located at 3812 Monticello Plaza, St. Charles.

Why Go: Get ready for this St. Patrick’s Day with a spirited shamrock platter.

Pricing: The cost is $34 per selected platter.
