Former Hometown Buffet: What Do You Want to See Here?

Each week, we highlight a vacant commercial area and ask: what would you like to see move into this area?

Since this is your community, we want O'Fallon Patch to be a place where you can not only find out what's going on around town, but a place where you can share your thoughts and ideas with your neighbors.

Our new feature "Visions for Vacancies" aims to help residents take an active role in planning and building their community. So each week, we'll highlight a vacant commercial area and ask: what would you like to see move into this area? If you know of an area you'd like to see highlighted, tell us in the comments.

This week, we are taking a look at 2352 Highway K , formerly home of Hometown Buffet.

If it were up to you, what would you like to see there? What do you think would best serve the O'Fallon community in that spot?

About this column: Each week, this column highlights vacant buildings in O'Fallon, to help residents take a proactive role in planning and building their community. Related Topics: Hometown Buffet, O'fallon, and Visions for Vacancies

Buffets are always horrible!! We have plenty of Chinese and Mexican Restaurants in O'Fallon and even though I'm not a huge fan of Red Lobster, a decent fish / seafood establishment would fill a hole in our communities culinary array.

I'm good with Red Lobster or any other fish place would work for me.

I'd be on board with a McAlister's Deli!

I would like to see either a Red Lobster, Golden Corral or a TGI Friday's become the new occupant. O'Fallon needs all three of them, but only one can get the spot at 2532 Highway K. May the best chain win!

Red Lobster sounds good, but a 54th Street Grill and Bar would be nice too.

How about a brewery/bar/restaurant for O'Fallon Brewery? That would be awesome!

To those asking for a Golden Corral? Yeah, we're getting one of those at Mexico and K. So, another one would be kind of ... redundant. :D

This would be a perfect spot for 'Fuddruckers'. A great place for all ages and good food. Check it out! http://www.fuddruckers.com/index.php
