Police said the O'Fallon man has been arrested several times for domestic assault.
An O’Fallon man has been charged with domestic assault after hitting and choking a woman until she passed out Saturday, according to an O’Fallon Police report.
A woman told officers that Michael J. Rampani III, 39, of O’Fallon, slapped her on the ear and choked her until she began to pass out at their home in the 400 block of Prince David Drive.
He then pushed her around the house and choked her until she was able to get away, according to the probable cause statement.
The officer also wrote that Rampani has previous arrests for domestic assault through the O’Fallon Police Department and a number of arrests through other departments.
