Noll's Closed, but Noll's Memories Live On
The new O'Fallon Hobo's location will feature Noll's pizza.
O'Fallon's landmark restaurant, Noll's, has closed its doors.
Although the restaurant is closed, Noll's famous pizza will live on. As we reported on Feb. 8, the O'Fallon Planning and Zoning Commission has approved a conditional use permit for 468-470 Hwy. P, where a new incarnation of Hobo's will be featuring Noll's pizza.
Last June, O'Fallon Patch asked readers to review Noll's in our Friday Food Critic column, and here were some of the comments we received:
- "O'Fallon's best kept secret! I feel that the Noll's is the best resturant that we have in O'Fallon by far. It may not look like it from the outside, but it's what's on the inside that really counts . . . The owner always makes you feel at home while you are dining, he sometimes comes out and personally visits with the guests. I promise I do not know the owner, nor do I dine there as much as I would like to as I am a raising kids on a budget, but believe me whenever I get a chance to go out to eat THIS IS the place."
- "Our family LOVES Noll's. In my opinion, their pizza is the absolute best you can get. The portions are large, and the prices are very reasonable . . . The owners must be good employers too because the wait staff has been the same for as long as I can remember and we've been going to Nolls for 10+ years. Some of the best places to eat are "mom & pop" restaurants and Noll's is no exception."
- "We love the Delmonico at Noll's. Maybe a little outdated in the designing, but isn't the Hill like that too? It just adds to the nostalgia!"
