O'Fallon 2012 Election Guide
Voters will elect two Fort Zumwalt School Board members and a director of the O'Fallon Fire Board.
It's Election Day and we've compiled a list of candidates on the ballot, as well as some helpful links for O'Fallon voters.
Four candidates are running for two spots on the Fort Zumwalt School Board, each with a three-year term limit.
Patch previously reported, a recent change that classified Fort Zumwalt as an “urban” school district because of population growth, meant board members would serve six-year terms instead of the current three-years. State Sen. Scott Rupp, R-Wentzville sponsored legislation to change the rule.
The Suburban Journal reported that Gov. Jay Nixon signed the legislation on Monday, allowing Fort Zumwalt to keep the three-year board terms.
Gearing up for the April 3 election, Patch sent questionnaires to each of the school board candidates. You can read the Q&A's from the candidates who responded by clicking the names with links.
