O'Fallon Brewery's New Rager Red Irish Ale Debuts Jan. 14
This Irish Ale is the new 2013 spring seasonal beer.
O’Fallon Brewery announced on Monday the debut of a new spring seasonal beer.
Rager Red will hit shelves at retailers on Jan. 14. Due to licensing regulations, the brewery is unable to sell directly to consumers, but its website provides a list of places where customers can purchase the beer.
The beer will be available in six-packs (12-ounce bottles) and kegs (1/6 and ½ barrels). Rager Red will be available through mid-April.
The brand will be distributed throughout Missouri, Arkansas, Alabama, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Wisconsin.
According to a news release, Rager Red is a medium-bodied Irish red ale with hints of caramel and toasted bread.
O’Fallon brewmaster, Brian Owens, started with two-row barley and a blend of munich and caramel malts, then added peated malt which is smoked over a fire made of peat moss and is traditionally used to make Irish whiskeys. Owens added magnum and tradition hops to impart some bitterness resulting in a smooth and balanced red ale.
O'Fallon Brewery is located at 26 W Industrial Dr., O Fallon. For more than a decade, the brewery has created and distributed to 10 states including Missouri.
They feature five everyday beers including O'Fallon Hemp Hop Rye, O'Fallon 5-Day IPA, O'Fallon Gold, O'Fallon Wheat and O'Fallon Smoked Porter. The company also brews four seasonal beers specific to the season. Rager Red joins the summer Kite Tail and fall O’Fallon Pumpkin Beer in the seasonal lineup. The company plans to introduce a new winter seasonal in December 2013
