O'Fallon Duplex Catches Fire After Being Hit By Lightning
Residents were able to escape the duplex, which was gutted by a fire caused by lightning on Tuesday night.
Two firefighters were injured while battling a fire at a duplex in O'Fallon Tuesday night, KSDK reports.
Authorities told KMOV that firefighters were called to investigate a lightning strike on the Tournament Tee Lane around 8 p.m., and when they arrived, heavy smoke could be seen coming from a nearby duplex unit.
The fire was near the Highway K and Highay N intersection, nearby the The Links at Dardenne golf course.
One firefighter was struck by falling debris and the second suffered from heat exhaustion, according to the KSDK report. Neither were life threatening injuries.

That was scary! We saw it from our back windows. You could barely breath the smoke was so thick! Super happy no one was hurt!
