Update: Playoffs Sports Bar & Grill Plans to Re-Open in O'Fallon

The commission approved recommendation to the O'Fallon City Council regarding the CUP at the Thursday, Nov. 1 meeting.

An O'Fallon resident is preparing to re-open his bar and grill in a new location in the city.

Playoffs Sports Bar and Grill was a restaurant and bar that featured karaoke, pool, dart leagues and live music at 40 Crossroads Plaza for 13 years until closing in July 2012.

Playoffs owner Mike Elmore has requested a conditional use permit (CUP) for a new location at 2299 O'Fallon Crossing. The new proposed location is at Highway K and N behind Walgreens, in the same plaza as Clarkson Eye Care and Madison's Cafe.

A public comment regarding the conditional use permit was held during the Thursday, Nov. 1  O'Fallon Planning and Zoning Commission meeting. No residents came forward to speak for or against the item.

"We're just going to set up a new location of the same bar and restaurant with a full service menu and alcohol," Elmore said at the meeting.

The commission approved a recommendation for the CUP to the O'Fallon City Council, which will vote on the item at a future meeting.

O'Fallon Patch will have more information about Playoff's Bar and Grill as soon as it becomes available.
