An O'Fallon man and three St. Charles County residents are accused of stealing $75,000 in office furniture from a company that was changing headquarters. One of the Harvester residents was the superintendent for the Maryland Heights building where the furniture was stolen.

Maryland Heights Police said they caught the four after the building superintendent listed the furniture on Craigslist.

The following people were charged Nov. 15 with felony stealing more than $25,000, a class B felony:

• Joseph Resimius, 54, of the 1200 block of Yorktown Drive in the Harvester area in St. Charles County;
• Jerald Ieans, 42, of the 1200 block of Yorktown Drive in the Harvester area in St. Charles County;
• Shannon Nester, 43, of the 1200 block of Yorktown Drive in the Harvester area in St. Charles County;
• Jereld Hanks, 44, of the 700 block of Diamond Pointe Court in O’Fallon.

Police said that GMAC Insurance was moving its headquarters to Cleveland and was vacating the Maryland Heights building at 13736 Riverport Drive. The company was in the process of moving when the furniture was stolen between March 1 and June 25.

Investigators found the furniture listed on Craigslist and traced the contact number to Resimius, the building supervisor at 13746 Riverport for a realty management company.

Maryland Heights Police detectives posed as buyers and arranged to view the furniture at Resimius’ residence in St. Charles. Nester and Ieans, who share the residence with Resimius, showed the furniture to the two detectives.

Nester, Ieans and Resimius were arrested. Police said all three confessed to the theft and each said Hanks helped them move the furniture.

GMAC investigators determined the furniture’s value was more than $75,000.

Each of the four defendants posted 10 percent of the $25,000 bond and were released last summer.
