The O'Fallon man was charged Friday with domestic assault.

An O’Fallon man who was charged Friday with hitting his wife also sent her some threatening text messages, O'Fallon Police said.

According to an O’Fallon Police report, Barry Yardley, 37, of the first block of Chip Drive in O’Fallon, argued with the woman on Wednesday before locking her in the bedroom, pushing her on the bed and hitting her in the back of the head. The woman told police she feared for her life.

A police report also said Yardley sent her some threatening text messages, including some that read:

“You better tell the cops their (sic) going to get shot. It’s end game time. They will have to kill me”

“I’m coming to get you”

“In your day of reckoning”

“You heartless (expletive). I’ll wait for you no matter how long it takes.”

“Bring your (expletive) ass home for a wooping (sic)”

“I’m prepared to do hard time. This time, I’ll be good for it”

“You better not come home. I’ll kill you.”

Yardley was charged with third-degree domestic assault. Bond was set at $5,000.
