Ruling Allows Dienoff Candidacy in Two Elections
Arnie Dienoff will be allowed to run for seats on the O'Fallon City Council and the County Ambulance Board in April's election.
O'Fallon's Arnie Dienoff will be allowed to run in two elections on the April ballot: the Ward 1 seat on the O'Fallon City Council and the District 2 seat on the St. Charles County Ambulance Board. That's according to Mark Schlinkmann's Political Fix blog on stltoday.com.
Circuit Judge Ted House reversed his previous decision in order allow Dienoff's candidacy for the ambulance board. A Missouri law forbidding running in two elections at the same time did not apply to special district elections, House decided.
The amended judgement states that:
The Court therefore orders Respondent Richard A. Chrismer to place Relator's name, "AC - Arnie C. Dienoff", on the April 2, 2013 ballot for the office of St Charles County Ambulance District Board of Directors District 2 in the number one position.
Absentee balloting has already begun, but Dienoff told the court he had no objection to his name going on the ballot at this point, saying that very few ballots have been cast.
