10 Things to Do in St. Charles County This Weekend

As we head into the weekend, Patch rounds up a list of events going on in St. Charles County.

  • O'Fallon's Celebration of Lights: The annual holiday lights display opens for the season on at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23 and continues nightly through Dec. 30. Guests can make reservations for sleigh, train or carriage rides.Click here for more information. 
  • Christmas Traditions: This annual festival runs every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday, starting Nov. 23, through Dec. 24. It features a cast of more than 30 Christmas characters including a Victorian-era Santa and Tiny Tim from A Christmas Carol. See hours here.
  • Official St. Charles City Christmas Tree-Lighting Ceremony: On Friday, Nov. 23 at 5 p.m., city officials and some of your favorite Christmas Traditions characters will begin the holiday season with the annual tree lighting at the 200 block of S. Main Street in St. Charles. Guests can also enjoy a cup of piping hot wassail, provided compliments of AT&T Missouri.
  • Wentzvile Holiday Night Lights: Begins Friday, Nov. 23 in Rotary Park, 2577 West Meyer Rd., Wentzville. Guests walk through the holiday light displays and enjoy refreshments. Santa Claus will also stop by to visit with and take photos with children. Cost is $3. Children under age 6 are free. 
  • Discover the Dinosaurs: Friday and Saturday at St. Charles Convention Center1 Convention Center Plz, St. Charles. See an exhibit of 8 to 10 scenes that represent the life of a dinosaur. Kids can also participate in a dino dig, watch dino theater, ride on the back of a triceratops, jump on inflatables and pan for gem or fossils. dmission is $16 for adults ages 12 and older, $11 for children ages 2-11, and for seniors ages 65 and older. 
  • Christmas Traditions Breakfast with Santa: Saturday, Nov. 24 at 9 a.m. at the Mother-In-Law House, 500 S. Main St., St. Charles. Tickets are $15 for children (12 and under) and $18 for adults. Reservations are required, limited number of tickets available. Contact Karen Godfrey at 636-255-6155.
