A O'Fallon man was injured in a four-vehicle crash on Friday night.
A O'Fallon man was injured in a four-car crash on westbound Interstate 70 last Friday night.
Gregory Hanks, 21, of O'Fallon, was transported for St. Joseph's Hospital-West by St. Charles County EMS after being involved in the crash just east of Bryan Road on 11:34 p.m. on July 6. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Hanks had minor injuries.
The crash report says Hanks, Joshua Kiel, 27, of O'Fallon and Jeremy Helmholtz, 22, of St. Peters were driving westbound on Interstate 70 in lane one on motorcycles. A fourth car, driven by an unknown driver, was in lane two. The fourth car changed lanes from two to one and struck Hanks' motorcycle, causing the vehicle to overturn. Kiel then hit Hanks' motorcycle and the motorcycle struck the median.
Helmholtz and Hanks both collided, causing both to overturn. The fourth vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway. The driver over-corrected and travelled off the right side and into the median. The driver of the fourth car then left the scene.
Along with Hanks's minor injuries, Helmholtz was also taken to the St. Joseph Hospital-East with minor injuries.
Hanks' motorcycle was totaled in the crash. Helmholtz and Kiel's both sustained extensive damage.
