What To Expect From O'Fallon Patch Sports

We're covering your local teams and we welcome your suggestions.

By the time you've reached this column, you probably have a pretty good idea of what to expect at O'Fallon Patch. We're local. We're online. We're your town. We're your schools.

But what about sports? What types of things are you going to see, you may ask? Well, that's partly up to you.

It's unlikely you'll get a lot of chatter around these parts about the Cardinals, the Rams, the Blues, Mizzou or SLU (though not a guarantee!) Instead, we plan to deliver the same types of things in our sports department as we deliver in our news department – local news.

You're get as much prep coverage as we can put together, and you're invited to be a part of that coverage by submitting scores and statistics if we're unable to be there in person.

You're going to get features on local athletes, local coaches and local teams – and we will always be open to suggestions from our readers. Great performance? Interesting story? Great game that deserves another look? Let us know!

We're going to cover more than preps, though. We're going to talk to local roller-derby skaters. We're looking for rugby leagues. We want the offbeat stuff as well as the things you always expect from strong local sports staff.

Down the road, we may have a team or athlete of the week feature. Perhaps a game of the week – you tell us! What interests you? What do you want to see covered in your local sports?

At Patch, we're excited. And we want you to be excited. Send your ideas in today to jeffrey.stahlhut@patch.com. We're listening!
