O’Fallon Youth Activity Corps Encourages Local Student Artists

Website opens bid gallery for youth wanting to post inspired works. Teens involved with O’Fallon Youth Activity Corps (OFYAC), feel there is a real need for a practical means of displaying feelings, ideas, and expressions captured in their art.

“It would be great to know that someone appreciates my art enough to offer anything, but I would like to get big bucks” stated a 15 year old 10th grader.

Many youth, having used some form of art to express inspired thoughts and ideas, say they simply want to share their expressions openly. According to Walter Lobster, OFYAC Organizer, they don’t all expect to become the next great artist but they do want to be encouraged.

Receiving even a dollar or two for their work provides that encouragement in addition to helping replenish supplies for further exploration of their skills.

“In efforts to support early exploration and survey of skills, talents, inherent traits, and abilities, OFYAC will post any youth’s work free, and they will receive 100 percent of any amount bided for their piece”, said Lobster.

O’Fallon Youth Activity Corps is a nonprofit committed to coaching, encouraging and facilitating youth to utilize their talents to benefit each other, the community, and the corps. Youth ages 11 thru 16 are encouraged to be innovative, explore, research, discover, develop, and express themselves using the tools of science, art while havingfun.

For more information about posting drawings, paintings and other art, or ofyac activities,Please call or email Walter Lobster, 636 379-2232 , ofyac.mo@gmail.com or visitwww.ofyac.org.
