O'Fallon City Council members Rick Lucas, Jim Pepper, Rick Battelle, Jeff Schwentker and Mike Snowden retained their seats in the April 2013 election.

O'Fallon City Council is keeping five familiar faces around for another three-year term. Ward 1 Rick Lucas ,who has served on the city council for seven years, was re-elected to Ward 1. Lucas won about 43 percent of the votes, with 595 votes. Challenger Kevin Wattelet received 35 percent of the votes, with 484 votes. Challenger AC Dienoff received 21 percent of the votes, with 294 votes. Ward 2 Jim Pepper, who has served on the city council for three years, was re-elected to Ward 2. Pepper won about 62 percent of the votes, with 721 votes. Challenger Mary Laulo received about 38 percent, with 435 votes. Voters in the Fort Zumwalt school district area didn't have any open seats on the school board to decide after only two candidates filed to run for the two open spots. Despite not having a school board race, voters did have to decide on a bond issue. Passing Proposition 1, a no-tax increase bond issue, allows Zumwalt to borrow $15,000,000 for the purpose of constructing, repairing, improving, extending, renovating, purchasing, furnishing, and equipping schoolhouse sites, buildings, grounds and related facilities for school purposes. The voters decided to pass the proposition with a 6,300 (64.10 percent) to 3,528 (35.90 percent) vote.

O'Fallon voters re-elected Bill Hennessy for a second mayoral term on Tuesday, April 2. Hennessy, who has served as mayor since 2009 and on the O'Fallon City Council for 10 years, won with about 69 percent of the votes, with 4,239 votes. Today is the day. Municipal elections will take place today in O'Fallon and all over St. Charles County. Several cities, including O'Fallon and Lake Saint Louis, will chose a mayor. City councils, school boards, and fire and ambulance districts will also be electing new members. Polling places around the city will open bright and early at 6 a.m. for a day full of voting in the election. Here are some things you should probably know before you hit the polls.
