DESCRIPTION:ST. LOUIS (February 14\, 2012) -- Shakespeare Festival St. Lo
 uis&rsquo\; production of &ldquo\;Othello&rdquo\; will run from May 25-J
 une 17 (excluding Tuesdays) at Shakespeare Glen in Forest Park on Fine A
 rts Drive. Preview performances are scheduled May 23-24. This is the fes
 tival&rsquo\;s 12th season of producing free performances of Shakespeare
 &rsquo\;s work in an outdoor setting. Believed to be written in approxim
 ately 1603\, Othello is a play about an outsider who misplaces his trust
  with cataclysmic results. Its themes of racism\, love\, jealousy and be
 trayal have made it one of the most popular plays in the world.\n&nbsp\;
 As in previous years\, the Pre-Show Festival activities will include a n
 ightly Green Show at 6:30 p.m. The Pre-Show will include: a 20-minute ad
 aptation of &ldquo\;Othello&rdquo\; which will introduce the characters 
 and plot to children of all ages\; musicians\, dancers\, singers\, juggl
 ers\; a craft table for kids\; conversations on the lawn by local schola
 rs\, as well as new activities. The popularity of last year&rsquo\;s ina
 ugural backstage tours before each performance and 20-minute post-show t
 alkbacks will continue this season.\n&nbsp\;Seating for "Othello" is ava
