13 Things to Do in St. Charles County This Weekend

Patch rounds up a list of events going on in St. Charles County.

  • H.O.P.P. Night: Friday at 7 p.m. at Progress Park, 968 Meyer Rd, Wentzville. Kids in grades 6-8 are invited to listen to music and dance with friends. under the supervision of Wentzville's recreation staff, volulnteers and police officers. Pay at the front door and remember to bring money for refreshments. Everyone is required to stay the entire time unless signed out by an adult. 
  • Missouri Monsters vs Corpus Christi Fury: Friday at 7:30 p.m. at St. Charles County Family Arena, 2002 Arena Pky, St. Charles. 
  • The St. Louis renaissance Faire: Saturday-Monday (continued June 1-8) at 10 a.m. at  Rotary Park, 2577 W Meyer Rd, Foristell. The festival celebrates the visit of French King Francois and his court to the recreated 15th century village life of Petite Lyon rance. The shady streets are lined with merchants selling wonderful period-inspired wares. Live entertainment is featured on seven stages throughout the site, and jousting knights meet on the field of honor daily.
  • Encaustic Workshop with Lisa Sisley-Blinn: Saturday at 10 a.m. at Foundry Art Centre, 520 N Main Ctr, St. Charles. Paint, draw, melt, then add paper, texture and much more. 
  • 9th Annual Missouri River Irish Festival: Saturday -Sunday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. at Frontier Park, 500 S Riverside Dr, St. Charles. Enjoy Irish fun for the whole family. Win two Guiness Harps on Saturday and Sunday of the festival. You can buy tickets for $1 or buy a souvenir cup for $2 and get 2 extra raffle tickets.
  • Mount Pleasant Live Music On The Patio: Saturday and Sunday at 5634 High St, Augusta. On Saturday, hear Javier Mendoza and come back on Sunday for the Ralph Butler Band. 
  • Lou Fusz - Break The Bank Sales Event: Friday-Sunday at Lou Fusz Chrysler Dodge Jeep, 3480 Highway K, O Fallon. Join Lou Fusz Chrysler Dodge Jeep in O'fallon MO as we celebrate May Mini Van Month with bank breaking savings.

Memorial Day Events: 

  • St. Charles City - County Memorial Day: Monday at 12:45 p.m. at Lewis & Clark Boat House and Nature Center, 1050 S Riverside Dr, St. Charles. The program will begin with welcoming remarks by County Executive Steve Ehlmann and St. Charles City Administrator Michael Spurgeon. The program features the calling of the rolls of those County veterans who have departed this past year. Honor guards from local veteran's organizations as well as the Joint St. Charles Police and Fire Department's Honor Guard will participate and assist the Korean War Veteran's local chapter in the laying of a wreath upon the waters of the Missouri River. American Legion Post 312 will provide the rifle salute while Paul Jones, VFW post 2866 will act as the Officer of the Day. St. Charles City Veteran's Commission Chairman, Tom Kuypers, will emcee the event. Traditional "Taps" will be performed by the St. Charles Municipal Band. In case of inclement weather, the event will move to  American Legion Post 312 on Raymond Drive, St. Charles.
  • St. Peter's Memorial Day CeremonyThe St. Peters Veterans Memorial Commission invites you to come out and honor all those American soldiers who gave their lives in the line of duty.Vietnam veteran and local radio personality Paul Arca will be a featured speaker. Kathryn Lawton Brown will provide the music. Guests will see 25 Marine recruits as they are sworn into military service. After the ceremony, St. Peters Gateway Church will provide free hot dog lunches for attendees.
  • Brig.Gen. Champagne will be the keynote speaker for O’Fallon’s Memorial Day ceremony: A Memorial Day Ceremony commemorating U.S. military personnel who died while in service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 27, at O’Fallon Veterans Memorial Walk, 800 Belleau Creek Road, O’Fallon, Missouri 63366. Free parking is available. Keynote speaker  Brig. Gen. Champagne is the Assistant Adjutant General for Air Forces in the Missouri National Guard stationed at Joint Force Headquarters, Jefferson City, MO.
