Pets are available for adoption through , an O'Fallon based volunteer group working to save homeless dogs and cats. All pets are kept in foster homes, where they receive the care they need to help prepare them for a permanent home.
All Paws is supported solely by private donations and fundraisers. If you're interested in adopting an animal, you can browse their website or attend one of their weekend adoption events at area stores. Last year they adopted out close to 300 pets.
This week's featured pet:
Lufia's foster mom says: "Lions, tigers and monkeys ...oh my! This little girl, really just a kitten herself, was discovered with her three babies in the window well of the Primate House at the St. Louis Zoo. Trapping feral cats on zoo grounds is a fairly common occurrence, but after trapping this young mother cat, the keepers realized she was not a feral cat and decided she needed a chance to find a good home. Her babies quickly found homes with some of the zoo staff, and this momma is being fostered by one of the zoo keepers that rescued her. She was treated for fleas and worms and was under weight and dehydrated. She is FIV/FeLV negative. She is sweet, loving and very tolerant of her three & half year old twin girls who just love to pick her up to give her a big hug. The girls have named her Lufia (Lu-fee-uh). She is doing very well with other three pets, a dog and two older cats and she's learning it's fun to play with toys again. Lufia is spayed and ready for a forever home."
All pets are spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations and on a flea/tick preventative. Cats are tested for FIV/FeLV and dogs are tested for heartworms. Adoption fee is $90 for cats and $125 for dogs.
