Adopt a Pet: Meet Rudy the 'Sweet, Goofy' Cat

All Paws Rescue volunteers need help finding dogs and cats permanent homes.

Pets are available for adoption through All Paws Rescue, an O'Fallon based volunteer group working to save homeless dogs and cats.  All pets are kept in foster homes, where they receive the care they need to help prepare them for a permanent home.

All Paws is supported solely by private donations and fundraisers.  If you're interested in adopting an animal, you can browse their website or attend one of their weekend adoption events at area PetSmart stores. Last year they adopted out close to 300 pets.

This week's featured pet: Meet Rudy

His foster mom says: "Rudy is a really sweet, goofy and needy cat!  He hasn't had a home of his own in so long; has been in foster care, predominantly with myself.  He loves to be close and sit on your lap; will hold onto your arm and give you kisses!  He gets along pretty well with my dog which is a herding dog so she can be pretty intense at times!  He is ok with one of my cats but not the other. I keep them separated.  He did not do well in our cat cages at Bridgeton because all the other cats stressed him out. When I first brought him home, he needed some time before he felt comfortable and stopped acting stressed. Now he runs around the house like he owns it! I don't think he should be in a house with other cats, but I think he will be fine with dogs but needs a slow introduction.  He is 5 yrs old approximately. Rudy is a very interesting cat and I think would make an excellent companion!"
