Get Out: Meet the Snowflake Lady, Make Art For the Troops, Play in the Ice Bowl

St. Louis Golf Expo

• When/Where? Jan. 20-22 at the , 1 Convention Center Plz. in St. Charles.
• What? Golf lovers are welcome to check out the latest club technology, participate in a putting contest and hear speakers on the main stage. Cost is $10 for adults, free for kids 12 and younger. Cost is $8 for seniors age 50 and older with an ID. The show runs from noon to 6 p.m. Friday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

• When/Where? Friday, Jan. 20 at 7 p.m. at , 968 Meyer Rd. in Wentzville.
• What? Teens are invited to Hang Out at Progress Park (HOPP) and enjoy dancing and snacks with friends under the supervision of Wentzville's recreation staff, police and volunteers. Register at the front door and remember to bring money for refreshments. Everyone is required to stay the entire time unless signed out by an adult. Cost is $3. 

WingHaven Teen Movie Night: Dolphin Tale

• When/Where? Saturday, Jan. 21 at 6:30 p.m. at the Winghaven Library at, 7435 Village Center Dr. in O'Fallon. 
• What? Teens are invited to the library for some free snacks while enjoying the true story of a brave dolphin and the strangers who worked together to save her life. Register on the library website. 

2012 St. Charles County Ice Bowl 

• When/Where? Saturday, Jan. 21 at Quail Ridge Park, 5275 Quail Ridge Pkwy. in Wentzville.
• What? Help the St. Charles County Disc Golf club raise money and collect food for OASIS Food Pantry. Cost is $10 and two cans of food. Registration runs from 8:30 to 9:35 and tee time is 10 a.m. 

Rec-Plex Fitness Fest Offers Free Facilities & Classes

• When/Where? Saturday, Jan. 21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the St. Peters Rec-Plex, 5200 Mexico Rd. in St. Peters
• What? St. Peters Rec-Plex invites area families for a day of swimming, ice skating, sports and trying out the expanded cardio and strength training facilities, indoor track and group fitness classes. See St. Peters Patch for a complete list of activities throughout the day. 

Make Art for Deployed Troops

• When/Where? Saturday, Jan. 21 at 1 p.m. at , 205 South Main St. in St. Charles. 
• What? Create art for the troops using clay and other mediums for military men and women serving overseas. If you know someone deployed, give My Handyworks their address and they will send the art. Call 636-724-7337. 

Winter Jam 2012 at The Family Arena

• When/Where? Saturday, Jan. 21 at 6 p.m. at the , 2002 Arena Pky in St. Charles. 
• What? Hear Christian music featuring artists, NewSong, Skillet, Sanctus Real and Kari Jobe.

Snowflake Exhibit at O'Fallon's Heald Home

• When/Where? Sunday, Jan. 22 from 1-4 p.m. at the Heald Home in , Veterans Memorial Pkwy and Fort Zumwalt Square in O Fallon.
• What? Meet Marion Nichols the "Snowflake Lady" and see her exhibit of intricate, cut-out paper snowflakes. Watch the artist demonstrate how she creates the original snowflake art. Nichols also will sign and sell copies of her snowflake books. The cost is $2 for the demonstration and a tour of the Heald House. The first 100 patrons will be able to create their own original snowflake.
