O'Fallon Pets Seek Owners

All Paws Rescue volunteers need help finding dogs and cats permanent homes.

Pets are available for adoption through All Paws Rescue, an O'Fallon based volunteer group working to save homeless dogs and cats.  All pets are kept in foster homes, where they receive the care they need to help prepare them for a permanent home.

All Paws is supported solely by private donations and fundraisers.  If you're interested in adopting an animal, you can browse their website or attend one of their weekend adoption events at area  stores. Last year they adopted out close to 300 pets.

Dog: Wags is a mixed breed puppy, born on Jan. 3, 2011.  He  weighs nine pounds and is expected to weigh around 45 pounds full grown, according to All Paws volunteers.  Wags came in to rescue with his litter-mate Wrigley.  All Paws volunteers say Wags appears to be a Lab mix, possibly with Border Collie or Shepherd or several other breeds. Wags is a friendly, outgoing puppy.  He was born with a kinked tail, but the vet checked it out and said no medical treatment is needed - it just makes him even more unique. Volunteers say Wags loves children and other animals, and will make a wonderful family pet.  He has been neutered, microchipped and received his initial puppy vaccinations.

Cat: Mitzi is a three-year-old cat. Volunteers say she had a very nice home, but her mom was diagnosed with acute asthma and was unable to keep her. Mitzi's foster parents say she  is an ultra-lovable cat, who just wants to be held and petted. She must be an only cat as she does not like to share attention with other cats.  Mitzi has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and tested negative for FIV/FeLV.
