Pogo, Naomi Are Ready For Adoption

All Paws Rescue volunteers need help finding dogs and cats permanent homes.

Pets are available for adoption through , an O'Fallon based volunteer group working to save homeless dogs and cats.  All pets are kept in foster homes, where they receive the care they need to help prepare them for a permanent home.

All Paws is supported solely by private donations and fundraisers.  If you're interested in adopting an animal, you can browse their website or attend one of their weekend adoption events at area  stores. Last year they adopted out close to 300 pets.

Cat:  All Paws rescued Pogo when his animal shelter in Piedmont, MO. flooded in 2009,taking in five ft. of water. Volunteers said during the flood,  cats were released from their cages as a last ditch effort for them to move to higher ground.  All Paws Rescue took in three of the 13 cats that were in the shelter. Pogo is one of these cats, and he has been waiting for a home since then.  Pogo is a three year old grey tabby. All Paws volunteers say he is a character and doesn't know a stranger, cat or human. Pogo was used to running free while at the shelter, so may have to be closley watched around open doors. Volunteers say Pogo is laid back and gets along well with other cats.  He may be OK with  a slow introduction to dogs. Pogo has been neutered, microchipped, tested negative for FIV and FeLV and is up to date on vaccinations. All Paws foster parents say he would really like a home of his own and will make a wonderful family pet.

Dog: Naomi is a 2 1/2 year old female Shih Tzu.  All Paws volunteers say she was a breeder dog and is very skittish around people and scared to be held. Volunteers say she has a lot of love to give and is good with other pets.   She has been spayed, microchipped, tested negative for heartworms, and is up to date on vaccinations. She is not house-trained, but if you have a lot of patience, you may be the right forever home for Naomi.
