"I am looking for is some great local cooks that are in some way tied to some great local and national charities," owner Scott Ellinger said in an email. "I will work with the cooks to get their recipe on our menu for anywhere from a week to a month, and then we will donate a portion of the proceeds to their guest 'chef’s' charity of choice."

Ellinger said he hopes to find someone to cook with The Brass Rail every two weeks, for a total of 24 a year. The guest chefs would come in on the Tuesday night of the first week to introduce their item, then the staff would take it from there. The owner said he hopes the guest chefs will encourage their friends and family to come out and try their menu item to help drive the sales and generate as much publicity and funds for the charity as possible.

"I dreamt this idea up about eight years ago to have a way to give back to the community, and now I am finally in a position to do so," Ellinger said.
