This Weekend: O'Fallon YMCA Hosts Healthy Kids Day

As we head into the weekend, Patch rounds up a list of events going on in St. Charles County.

7th Annual Spring ArtWalk Event

  • When/Where? All day on Friday-Sunday , 302 N Main St., St. Charles. 
  • What? This free event sponsored by the St. Charles Riverfront Arts Organization supports the group's mission of growing a dynamic art district in and around Main Street.

Morning Star Church Women’s Retreat

  • When/Where? Friday-Saturday at , 1600 Feise Rd., Dardenne Prairie.
  • What? Morning Star Church presents this women’s retreat entitled “Living Out the Vertical in a Horizontal World,”based on the book by author and featured speaker,Leigh Gray.The event is open to the community for women of all ages and stages and runs on Friday, April 27 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 28 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Cost is $40, and includes dinner on Friday and breakfast and lunch on Saturday. A Night of Poetry at the Foundry Art Centre

  • When/Where? Friday, April 27 at 7 p.m. at the _, 520 N Main Ctr., St. Charles. 
  • What?  This event features Missouri’s First Poet Laureate Walter Bargen and Howard Schwartz reading from selected works. People will have a chance to meet the poets and get signed copies of their books.  Cost is $5, and a cash bar is available. ACT II Community Theater Presents: Agatha Christie's 'The Mousetrap'

  • When/Where? Friday-Sunday at the , 1 Saint Peters Centre Blvd. 
  • What? The story follows a group of strangers trapped in a boarding house during a snowstorm. See if you can figure out who the murderer is before they do, as this popular mystery is brought to life on the St. Peters Cultural Arts Stage this weekend. Show begins at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and at 2 p.m. on Sunday. 

Spring Wiffle Ball Tournament

  • When/Where? Friday, April 27 at 6 p.m. at , 2577 W Meyer Rd., Foristell.
  • What? This competition is for players age 16 and older. Teams will have  three to five players with a pitcher and two outfielders. All equipment is provided. Cost is $45. Call 636-332-9236 for more information.

 Healthy Kids Day at O'Fallon YMCA 

  • When/Where? Saturday, April 28 at 10 a.m. at the , 3451 Pheasant Meadow Dr. O Fallon.
  • What? The O'Fallon YMCA participates in a national initiative to improve the health and well-being of kids. Event will feature O'Fallon Police K-9 demonstrations, performances by the Muny Kids touring group, face painting, games and much more.

 Run. Live. Learn. 10K/5K/Fun Run and Expo

  • When/Where? Saturday, April 28 at 7:30 a.m. at , 4601 Mid Rivers Mall Dr. Cottleville. 
  • What? St. Charles Community College presents this 20th annual wellness event, which is free and open to the public. Late registration is $25 for 10K and 5K and $20 for Fun Run.

St. Peters YMCA Adult Co-ed Kickball Tournament

  • When/Where? Saturday, April 28 at 2:30 p.m. at St. Peters , 3900 Shady Springs Ln.
  • What? Grab some friends and sign up to play kickball this weekend. Cost is $200. Teams receive T-shirts and are guaranteed to play two games. Teams must have 10-15 players, with a minimum of four women. Participants are welcome to bring their own snacks, beer and soda. 

Christ the King Community Barbecue

  • When/Where? Saturday, April 28 at 10 a.m. at , 414 S Church St., St. Peters.
  • What? The Men's Group of Christ the King hosts a barbecue featuring brats, pulled pork and hot dogs. For more information call Richard Blank at 636-447-1569.

 A Night Among the Stars

  • When/Where? Saturday, April 28 at 6:30 p.m. at 3300 Rue Royale, St. Charles. 
  • What? Foundations of Love invites you out to a night of star gazing, drinks, music and raffles to benefit adults with developmental disabilities in St. Charles County. 

10th Annual Angel Ball Gala

  • When/Where? Saturday, April 28 at 6 p.m. at the , 1 Convention Center Plaza, St. Charles.
  • What?  This annual event benefits Share Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support, Inc., which serves parents who have lost children. New York Times Bestselling author Richard Paul Evans is the guest of honor. Cost is $100. For more information, call 636-947-6164.

Kilometers for Chris 5K and Fun Run

  • When/Where? Sunday, April 29 at 9 a.m. at 209 S Kingshighway St., St. Charles. 
  • What? Proceeds from this event will benefit Chris Lister, who was struck by a car while running in a 10K in January. Chris suffered serious injuries and the goal of this event is to provide financial support for him and his family during this difficult time. Cost is $25 the day of the race. Register online.
