Joy of Censorship

Joe Raiola, senior editor at MAD Magazine, will present “The Joy of Censorship” at St. Charles Community College at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30. The lecture will be in the auditorium of the Daniel J. Conoyer Social Sciences Building on the SCC campus in Cottleville. This event is free and open to the public.

Raiola will reflect on today’s most hotly debated first amendment issues with his insight and humor. No subject is off limits in Raiola’s passionately outspoken program. This presentation will cover the endless arguments over banned books, movie ratings, the FCC (Federal Communications Commission), the Patriot Act and the true meaning of obscenity. Raiola will also discuss the colorful history of MAD Magazine.
