Local Artists Bring Color to Winghaven Boardwalk

On Sunday, the St.Charles County Arts Council presented their first Art on the Boardwalk event.

Local artists put their talent on display for the St. Charles County Art Council's first event on Sunday.

Barbara Marshall, president of the arts council said the purpose of the event was to raise awareness about the organization, promote local artists work and to raise money for the council.

Despite the Saturday cancelation in anticipation of bad weather, Marsall said she was still pleased with the turn-out and plans to make the event annual.

Thirteen artists signed up for the free event and each donated a piece to be auctioned on Saturday night at the Lillian Yahn Gallery. All proceeds will benefit the St. Charles County Arts Council. As of Sunday afternoon, Marshall was unsure how much money the silent auction collected.
