  • Permits larger directory signage for developments of more than 10 acres in size. This type of signage may be up to 20 feet in height and 225 square feet in sign area. Before this change, directory signage as limited to 12 feet in height and 150 square feet in sign area.
  • Permits larger directory signage for developments of more than 10 acres in size. This type of signage may be up to 20 feet in height and 225 square feet in sign area. Before this change, directory signage as limited to 12 feet in height and 150 square feet in sign area.
  • Allows for “secondary identification signage” related to the occupation, service, and/or product being sold at the site. This type of signage was not previously permitted.
  • Permits secondary directional signage within a project, site or development exceeding ten (10) acres in size.  These types of signs shall be designed to accommodate the names of businesses or buildings with directional areas.  These signs may be placed no closer than 50 feet to a public or private right-of-way and shall not exceed 28 square feet in area or 10 feet in height.  These signs are effective in guiding vehicle and pedestrian traffic through a large development.  They were not allowed previously.
  • Now allows for A-Frame or sandwich board signs to be placed on sidewalks no further than 20 feet from the storefront of a business to advertise their products and services without a permit. Signs must be placed so as not to disrupt sidewalk traffic and may only be placed outside when the business is open.
  • Establishes parking regulations for Class Three and above vehicles, step vans and trailers that are used primarily for signage. These types of vehicles are prohibited from parking in the spaces located closest to the right-of-way or property line. This issue was not previously addressed in the City’s sign code.

Just saw this on Facebook: The Brass Rail Steakhouse "Start making plans now. I am making CRAB CAKES for the weekend. I am about 90% sure I will have the crab on Thursday, and if I do, I will make a batch Thursday afternoon and keep making them all weekend until we run out of crab. Don't miss out on the chance to have the best crab cakes in Missouri (so they tell me)."
