According to the St. Charles County Suburban Journal, Carl Bearden plans to turn a petition into the county election authority by the end of this week, to place a a county-wide smoking ban on the Nov. 6 ballot. The proposed ban would exempt Ameristar Casino. Read more here.

Sign Up for O'Fallon Chamber of Commerce 20th Annual Golf Tournament

This annual fundraiser is set for Thursday, August 23 at Whitmoor Country Club, 1100 Whitmoor, St. Charles. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. with lunch following at 11 a.m. . The tournament begins at noon and will be followed by an awards dinner. The four person scramble includes 18-holes of golf with a cart, lunch, one mulligan per player, drinks on the course and dinner. For more information or to register, visit the chamber website.

The O'Fallon Chamber Board of Directors just approved this new event scheduled for February 2013. The chamber is looking for committee members to help pull off this first time event in a way that will make sure it is a success for years to come. The committee will hold its first meeting on Thursday, Sept. 6 at 8 a.m., regular committee meeting dates and times will be discussed at that time.
