Friday Food Critic: Golden Corral

Each week, we nominate a new restaurant for you to review. That's right, you're the local expert.

When it comes to restaurants, O'Fallon has plenty.

O'Fallon has some local places that many would consider community gems, some restaurants that aren't exactly mom-and-pop but are unique to the area and O'Fallon certainly have plenty of chains lining our main streets.

But what the city doesn't have have is a consistent food critic to tell us what's good and what's not.

That's where you come in.

We could throw some money at a professional food critic, but that's not exactly what Patch is all about. We'd much rather know the opinion of the fine folks that eat there day-in and day-out.

It's your community. You eat the food. You tell us if it passes the mark.

That's why we have The Friday Food Critic column, where each week we will put a different restaurant on the chopping block. You tell us how you feel about it, what dishes are good, who has the best drink specials and so forth.

This week's restaurant is Golden Corral, located near the intersection of Highway K and Mexico Road.

Golden Corral opened earlier this week and we want to hear what you think!

At O'Fallon Patch, we believe your words of wisdom are better than any food critic.

What are you waiting for? Let the reviewing begin!

Took my son to the Golden Corral the other night. Place was very clean, staff very attentive, our server very sweet and prompt. some of the side dishes could have used a little more seasoning but that is what the salt and pepper is for at the table. Pot Roast and Meat Loaf were very good, excellent Fried Chicken. The Dessert selection left my son frustrated as there were so many selections and he wanted to stay. We'll be back and next time I'll bring his brothers!
