New Dog Kennel Seeking Planning & Zoning Approval

Club K-9 would also offer training and grooming.

A vacant building at 8475 Veterans Memorial Parkway could soon be a dog training, grooming and kenneling facility, pending approval of a conditional use permit.

Applicants and O'Fallon residents Brian and Kelly Shaw plan to convert the building, which has been vacant for some time, and open a business there called Club K-9.

Club K-9 will also offer daycare and boarding along with grooming and training. Hours will be 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday to Friday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

The Shaws plan to use a small outside area behind the building for an exercise area with a privacy fence, and have adjusted their plans to address the concerns of neighboring property owners.

Dogs will not be left outdoors at night.

O'Fallon's Planning and Zoning Commission meets Thurs., June 6 at 7 p.m.
