O'Fallon Dentists Offer Free Services For Uninsured Residents On Friday

Family Dental Care at Winghaven and Creative Smiles Dental Care are offering Free Dentistry Day to help local families in need.

Two O'Fallon dentist offices are teaming up to help local families in need on Friday.

Family Dental Care at Winghaven and Creative Smiles Dental Care located at 3009 and 3011 Winghaven Blvd. are each offering free dentistry services on Friday, Sept. 21.

"We just really wanted to help the community," said Amy Morris, office manager at Family Dental Care at Winghaven. "We know dental service can get exepensive and not everyone has coverage."

People of all ages are welcome to take advantage of free cleanings, extractions and fillings. Appointments will be accepted on a first come first served basis the day of the event, according to Morris.

Dr. Duc Tang, Dr. Jennifer Tharp and their teams at Family Dental Care at Winghaven and Creative Smiles Dental Care will provide free services for needy families between 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.

According to a news release from the dentist offices, one third of Americans are living without dental insurance and without events like Free Dentistry Day, dental care isn’t an option.

“Now more than ever, there are people in O’Fallon who need dental services but have no means to afford them – whether they’re out of a job, or just don’t have dental insurance,” said Dr. Tang. in a news release. “This event is a great opportunity for us to share our time and resources with those less fortunate and give back to the community we serve.”

Dr. Tharp agreed and added that her team is dedicated to providing dental care because it is important to overall health.

“By participating in this program, our goal is to engage patients and encourage them to adopt an ongoing oral care program and a lifelong regimen of preventative care," Dr. Tharp said in a news release.
