O'Fallon to Present Strategic Plan for Economic Development

After the open house, the economic development department will finalize the program and present it to the city council for approval.

The city of O'Fallon has developed a plan for economic development and is offering the public a chance to hear all about it at an open house next week.

The Economic Development Strategic Plan Open House will be held in the Multi-Purpose Room at O’Fallon Municipal Centre from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23.

Mike Hurlbert, the city’s economic development director, will be the meeting facilitator and explain the plan that will serve as the guide for future economic development efforts in O'Fallon.

Hurlbert presented the plan to the city council in a work session last week.

The four goals of the program—business retention, business attraction, marketing and regulations are addressed through 38 points, including a business recognition program, determining special project areas, expanding the city's "Open in the O" program, creating a visitor booklet and map, and reviewing city business fees and signage regulations.
