Play N Trade To Close June 28

Play N Trade, a video game store in Winding Woods Centre, will be closing June 28.

Owner Timothy Tieber announced the store's closing on its Facebook page, saying that the store had been his dream and that he appreciated the support of his customers.

"These past few years have been a ton of work but more importantly lots of fun. We have supported the local high schools, other small business's, charities, among many other things and I pray that if anything at all was accomplished in the past few years that it be that we affected at least one person's life in a positive way," Tieber said.

"I urge you all to continue to support local small business's. In our time in O'Fallon we donated and supported different efforts with well in excess of $15,000. Small business is what will keep our cities strong and they profoundly need our support."

Tieber reminded customers who have store credit or who have paid in advance for games to come in before June 28. He is currently running a buy-two-get-one-free special.

Customers offered their condolences and support with posts on the store's Facebook page.

Amanda Gillham said, "I'm so sorry to hear this. We have loved coming to the store. It has been the only place we have gone since we found you just after you opened. You and your staff have been amazing and it was a true pleasure getting to know you. I hope that you will stay in touch. We hope to see you this weekend!"

Stephen Graveman said, "Tim. I'm so sorry to hear this. Your store was great and everyone you hired lived up the quality that I expected from you. I remember years ago when you first told me about this dream, and I'm beyond impressed that you went out there and did it. Seriously, not everyone is that brave (including me). I know wherever you go from here, you're going to do great things, but I'll miss having PnT around. Come June 28th, I hope you walk out of there with your head held high. Because you should be proud."
