The "burger shack" on Veterans Memorial Parkway offers a variety of half-pound, just-like-homemade burgers.

There's no inside seating at the burger shack on Veterans Memorial Parkway. Patrons line up at a service window to place their orders, then wait on nearby benches or patio seating. This spring's nippy weather had some burger-lovers retreating to their cars to wait for their orders.

Daddy Ray's name is an homage to Ray Morris, who passed away in 2012. Ray's grandson, O'Fallon resident Jason Boergadine, opened the restaurant and featured his grandfather's burger receipe, which Boergadine describes as "Truly unique. There’s some sweetness, and it’s not just a burger thrown on a grill.”

Specialty burgers offer a variety of cheese, bacon, jalapeno and BBQ-topped alternatives.

Besides burgers, Daddy Ray's offers chili dogs and bacon-wrapped hot dogs, BLTs and chicken sandwiches. You can get your sandwich with fries (regular and sweet potato), potato footballs, onion straws or coleslaw.
