SunRise VBS Raises More Than $2,000 For Joplin's Children's Ministries

Over $2,000 Raised

During the week of June 25-29, held its annual Vacation Bible School. 

There were 323 kids, 110 youth and 100 adults attending or assisting this year.  The theme for this year was Sky (Everything is Possible with God). 

During VBS, we try to teach the kids about being mission-minded. This year the mission that they were donating to was Joplin's Children's Ministries. The goal was $2,000.

On Tuesday, the kids brought in pennies ($257.14), on Wednesday, nickles ($301.10), on Thursday, dimes ($855.50) and on Friday, quarters ($1,331.00) for a total of $2,744.74 or 137% of their goal. 

During this week, the kids learned that they can always "Trust God" no matter who they are, how they feel, what other people do, what happens and finally, where they are that God is always there for them.
