Assumption School Closed Today After Threat Made on Social Media

An extra police presence is at the school today after last night's threat.

Assumption School in O'Fallon is closed today after a threat was made against the school via social media.

Fox2 News reported this morning that a bomb threat was made over Instagram late Thursday involving three area schools, Assumption in O'Fallon and Immaculate Conception in Dardenne Prairie and Fort Zumwalt West Middle School. Assumption and Immaclate Conception have closed for the day.

Fort Zumwalt West Middle School, however, is open today, but extra police are at the school and extra precautions are being taken after police investigated the threat overnight and determined that it was not credible.
