O'Fallon Kicks Off Holiday Season With Tree Lighting, Food Drive and Giving Tree

The 13th annual event was held on Wednesday night at O'Fallon City Hall.

The City of O'Fallon officially kicked off the holiday season with the 13th annual Tree Lighting ceremony on Wednesday.

Residents filled City Hall from 6-8 p.m. to sing Christmas songs, make crafts, visit with Santa and join in the countdown to the annual lighting of the tree in the City Hall Rotunda.

The City of O'Fallon also began the annual "Giving Tree" drive, which runs from now until Dec. 15. Residents are invited to bring new winter hats, gloves, mittens, scarves and socks to decorate the tree in the lobby of City Hall. The items will be donated to the Salvation Army.
