Tim Lohmar Nominated for St. Charles County Prosecutor

Lohmar will replace Jack Banas who was elected Circuit Court Judge in November.

St. Charles County Executive Steve Ehlmann nominated Tim Lohmar to replace Jack Banas as prosecuting attorney, according to a press release.

Banas was elected circuit court judge in St. Charles County in November. Ehlmann has tapped Lohmar to fill the remaining two years in Banas' four year term.

Lohmar, an associate circuit court judge, will be prosecuting attorney from Jan. 1, 2013 until the next general election in November 2014. The St. Charles County Council has to confirm Lohmar's appointment.

Lohmar was the first municipal judge of St. Charles County municipal court, and  also served as municipal judge in Moscow Mills.

Ehlmann pointed out that he expects Lohmar to “continue to aggressively prosecute crime. It won’t bother me at all if the criminals in the St. Louis area stay out of St. Charles County because they know our prosecutor will be tough on them. Tim is somebody who was born and raised in St. Charles County, and he understands how important safe neighborhoods are to our families.”
