Week in Review: Man Randomly Punched in Sports Bar, Casino Expects Revenue Dip, New Goodwill Store Opens

• An O'Fallon man is charged with assault after police say he allegedly hit and choked a woman.
• A St. Peters man walked into a sports bar on Jungermann Road Oct. 15 and slugged a complete stranger who was watching television. The victim said he did not know his assailant, had never spoken to him and had never met him before.
• St. Peters resident Nancy O'Donnell, 53, pled guilty to one felony count of mail fraud after admitting to setting up a fake bank account to use money donated to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cottleville for herself.
• Police say a Wentzville man took a friend to an O'Fallon grocery store in a car that belonged to the friend's grandmother, and was arrested in Beaver County, Utah.
• St. Charles is expecting to see a significant decline in revenue from Ameristar Casino due to construction on the westbound lanes of the Blanchette Bridge.
• A St. Charles man fleeing police wove in and out of traffic on Kirkwood Road Oct. 14 before being hemmed in by two off-duty officers.
• More than five years after the old Noah's Ark restaurant at Interstate 70 and Fifth Street was demolished, city officials gathered to cut the ribbon on its long-awaited Streets of St. Charles project.
• A St. Charles County man faces criminal charges after police said he had sexual contact with a 5-year-old girl. 
• The newest Goodwill store in St. Peters opened Thursday.
• A 26-year-old woman from O'Fallon suffered moderate injuries Thursday morning after being involved in a two-car accident along Route 370.
• The mother of a 9-year-old girl says the Wentzville School District is wasting taxpayer dollars in efforts to retaliate against her and her family for filing complaints against the district through the U.S. Department of Education Office for Civil Rights. 
• For the third time in the last five years, St. Peters has named one of the Top 100 Best Places to Live.
• Trolleys likely won't make a return to Main Street St. Charles in 2013, despite an effort from Mayor Sally Faith to include funding for them in the budget.
• Hungry for some sliders? The White Castle in O'Fallon is under construction, meaning the dining room is closed while drive-thru customers can still feed their craving.
• A St. Peters man has been indicted for his alleged possession of child pornography in December 2010. 
• A 24-year-old man was reportedly attacked by a stranger on North Main Street.
• A St. Charles man faces a drug charge after officers found he had more than five grams of marijuana that he planned to deliver to an informant .
• A 44-year-old man beat two family members Friday, repeatedly kicking his father—who has a pacemaker—in the face and chest.
• In this week's roundup of Missouri political stories, Todd Akin said he was confident he can win the U.S. Senate race, Dave Spence wanted voters to vote all-Republican and Gov. Jay Nixon defends his reelection bid.
• HoneyBaked stores are preparing for the annual holiday rush by hiring 6,500 people nationwide to help sell their signature glazed Honey Baked hams. Some of those jobs are in the St. Charles County-area.
• A St. Charles man damaged bedroom furniture, dishes and a patrol car after officers responded to the scene.
• Hoping to solve some of the problems created by the city's first ordinance to provide for snowplowing of private streets, the Lake Saint Louis Board of Aldermen will be voting on a revised bill.
• Wentzville Mayor Nick Guccione will be among the participants along Wentzville Parkway holding signs and banners at an anti-heroin rally.
