O'Fallon, Mo. - To help local small businesses compete and grow, MasterCard will host a free seminar as part of its Master Your Card – Missouripublic education campaign. The seminar will take place on Thursday, Nov. 15 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Christy Banquet Center, 9000 Veterans Memorial Parkway, O’Fallon, Mo. 63366.

The St. Louis area is home to more than 69,000 small businesses. That’s equal to more than 24 small businesses per 1,000 residents. During this seminar, electronic payment experts will offer safe, simple and smart tips on how small business owners can leverage electronic payment technologies to grow their businesses and successfully compete with larger retailers and service providers. Electronic payment cards have become an essential cost of doing business, but small businesses often leave value on the table.

This seminar offers small business owners the insight they need to provide better service, control costs and reduce monthly card processing fees. Attendees will learn:

  • How to get better value from card payments by understanding how processors evaluate a business, set up fee structures and line item bills.

  • How to use electronic payment technologies to keep their business secure at the cash register, over the phone and online.

Event supporters include the O’Fallon Chamber of CommerceWestern St. Charles County Chamber of Commerce and thejennypincher.com.

This is an important opportunity for all residents who want to have input on Civic Park and theRead More changes that they want to see now that Civic Hall is gone. The men and women of the city council and parks department who are making these decisions need to hear from us.

She's on vacation at the moment. When she returns she'll still be here, but in a different role.Read More Instead of just working with O'Fallon, she'll be working with multiple Patch sites across St. Louis. While she's doing other things, Tammy Duncan and I will be posting often around here. Basically Jordan is still very much involved, but she just won't be writing as many stories.
