Labor & Birth, Newborn Care, Breastfeeding Package - Six-Weeks

This six-week, 18-hour program combines our three most popular classes (labor & birth preparation, newborn care and breastfeeding) for first-time expectant parents.  Participants will gain knowledge and confidence about the labor and birth experience and care of their baby.

Birth topics include: how to know if you are in labor, natural comfort measures including massage, relaxation, breathing awareness and labor positions.  Learn about epidural anesthesia, medical interventions, labor induction, cesarean birth, and postpartum recovery.  A tour of the Maternity Center  is included.

Newborn care topics include practice time diapering, bathing and swaddling a life-size baby doll, circumcision, sleep patterns and baby safety tips. Learn about immunizations, well baby check-ups and how to tell if your baby is sick from a local pediatrician.  Expert advice on how to breastfeed successfully, infant formula preparation and introducing solids will be presented.

We recommend completing this class 6-8 weeks before your due date. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring two pillows and a blanket to class with you.

Registration in this class is for the expectant mom and her labor partner.

Payment by debit or credit card is required at time of registration.

Special instructions and directions for parking and classroom location will be included in a confirmation email and two reminders prior to the class start date.
