The Misogynistic Party Is Over

This post describes societal changes completed and ongoing that will likely eradicate domestic and sexual violence against women in America before re-authorization of VAWA comes due.

I am issuing a warning to all men that I do not enjoy sharing.

We as a society have tolerated misogyny far too long. Many men have had their consciences seared as to how to treat women. The rest of us have become desensitised.

Domestic and sexual violence against women is a terrible evil and is running rampant. Thank God that is changing. The positive change I am talking about has other smaller parts but there are two major parts. The first part is materially and substantially complete. The second part is advancing steadily as we speak.

The completed first part is the enhanced Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) working in synergy with our greatly improved state rape and domestic violence laws and judicial rules of evidence in criminal trials dealing with violence against women.

Those laws have been enacted with overwhelming bi-partisan support. They are here to stay and will likely be strengthened in the future. Those laws have teeth and are very harsh toward perpetrators and greatly favor women.

The second ongoing part of change is the education of law enforcement, prosecutors, judges, the public (who will provide jurors), and the victims themselves. This education is teaching the reality and dynamics of domestic and sexual violence against women, dispelling myths and stereoypes.

One example of such education is the slide show at startbybelieving.org and much information can be obtained at mocadsv.org
