Parks & Recreation Staff: Outstanding City Division

It was with great civic pride that I volunteered my time on Saturday at the Founder's Day Festival held at .

The weather was in a word - HOT! The expressions on the kids faces as they stretched their skills at various sites throughout the festival - PRICELESS!

Aside from all the above, our staff did an absolutely fantastic job in putting this festival together, organizing the layout of the park, having appropriate family vendors and coordinating volunteers.

Cindy Springer and her team of folks are to be commended for their efforts in making this a success. The only complaints I heard involved the heat and at last observation Cindy can't control that - but I bet she would try if it meant more participation from city residents!

As always, our Park Ranger patrol and our O'Fallon Police Department patrolled regularly and folks felt safe! Thank you Parks and Recreation for this outstanding festival and to all the volunteers that showed up and worked this event. Special shout out to Bill Gardner, City Councilman, Ward 1 - if you ever need stilt lessons I am sure Bill could provide them!
